Very few singers move me to tears but I was emotional & cried in the first 15 seconds of this clip. I'm so happy to call this woman my friend. #TheBeautifulOne #AtAll #CynthiaErivo #CosmicCreator #TheColorPurple
The George Zimmerman verdict is sad! I understand the legal system states if there is ANY reasonable doubt then a conviction cannot be made. I am upset for Trayvon Martin's family and all the other family's who have lost loved ones over racism and bigotry. We are aware that injustice is prevalent!!! Enough is enough. I witnessed that as I traveled half way round the globe today and entered border control. The amount of racial and social profiling that occurs across the board is uncanny. Where injustice lives there will never be peace. I will not be silent about it. None of us will. I will not be silent about racial inequality, gender inequality, financial/social inequality, educational inequality, healthcare inequality or gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender inequality. I will not be silent about basic human rights!
"I’ve been smacked in the face with love and it left a bruise that stuck around for a while. But that’s what love is about. You see something you want, something you think you can’t be without, something you need. Something that gives you power. You do whatever it takes to get it, and when you have it, you feel whole. Music sounds crisper. Food tastes better. You feel as if you’re experiencing the world around you with a new set of eyes. Eyes that you get to share with someone! And nothing could be better. And then it all comes crashing down. Or sometimes a steady decline. Going down hill, picking up speed as you skin your knees, barreling down in the dirt. You might even get back up and start to climb again! And you might get there! Or you may not…. and you’ll roll all the way down into the mud. And you get stuck there for a while. What happened to that delicious food? Man, I’m sick of this fucking song. Everything is dulled. You’re not standing up on high anymore, looking over the world. You’re down in the muck. So you wallow. You grab, squeeze it, throw it around for a bit. And when you’re ready, you get up. You free yourself, even if the residue hangs on. Each day you shake off more and more of the dirt. Until it’s dried up and gone. And you’re back in the game."
